The Hunger Games actress came out on top with six gongs, including Favorite Movie Actress, Favorite Face of Heroism and Favorite On-Screen Chemistry, sharing the stage with Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.

Perry was the fan favourite in top music categories, including Pop Artist, Female Artist and Music Video (Part of Me), while her KatyCats won Favorite Music Fan Following.

In the midst of the prestige awards season, the People’s Choice Awards can serve as a healthy reminder that at least on some level, entertainment is made for the fans and wouldn’t exist without them. Whether through social media, or encounters at the grocery store, everyone on the carpet had their own favorite fan encounter, and none seem to tire of hearing when people like their work.

Presenter Olivia Munn (The Newsroom) described growing up in a military family, having to move around consistently and fight for herself.  With her fans, she said, she didn’t have to fight anymore. They’d fight on her behalf. “My fans have given me everything,” said Munn on the People’s Choice Awards red carpet, Wednesday. “They’re people who are helping me make my dreams come true.”

Teenage Dream singer Katy was this year’s Favourite Pop Artist and Favourite Female Artist.

Her Part of Me video was selected as Favourite Video of the year and even the star’s devotees were acknowledged, as the KatyCats triumphed as the Favourite Music Fan Following.

"The Hunger Games" devoured the competition at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, emerging the top victor with five trophies.

The blockbuster was named favorite movie, action movie and movie franchise and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth had fans' favorite on-screen chemistry. Lawrence also won favorite movie actress and "face of heroism."
